A few words before I leave

Hello Everyone,
I just want to say a few things to start this blog
1) I will be studying and living in Managua, the capital, of Nicaragua from February 10th until sometime around the end of June.
2) This is my first blog and I hope to use it as a way of sharing my experiences and thoughts while I am abroad with all the people I care about.
3) I don't know how often I will be updating this.
With my adventure just a week and a bit away, I am becoming more and more excited at the prospect of completely immersing myself in a new culture. I will be taking classes at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua-Managua and living with a family. While, I am going with a group of American students from various universities, I am not living with them or necessarily taking the same classes. There are some group trips planned but I also hope do some additional travel. I am not sure what to expect at all but that only makes me more excited to go. Zambullir, the title of this blog, means to dive or plunge in and that is exactly what I mean to do.
